Dr Oz was excited to share one-minute meals with the help of the author of 300 Sandwiches, Stephanie Smith. The inspiration for the book came when her boyfriend told her she was “300 sandwiches away from an engagement ring.” Stephanie shared that in her relationship, her boyfriend Eric did all the cooking, but one thing she could make for him was sandwiches. One day she made him a turkey and Swiss sandwich that was so good, he uttered those famous words. She took him up on the challenge and started cooking. She’s almost to 300 but already got the ring!
Dr Oz started by looking at what Stephanie called the “ultimate breakfast sandwich.” Best of all, it was simple and really could be thrown together in just one minute. Just put put a slice of tomato, scrambled eggs, some mozzarella cheese, and some fresh basil on a whole-wheat English muffin. It’s that easy!
Next, to cut back on some carbs, you can make lettuce wraps. You can find the recipe for the easy to make steak lettuce wraps below! Stephanie joked that even though her boyfriend proposed as she was making sandwich 257, she knew she had to finish because a deal is a deal!
Finally, Stephanie had a one-minute meal that was so easy, kids could even make it. It’s a peanut-butter banana chia seed wrap. Layer peanut butter, and banana slices and then sprinkle with chia seeds and cinnamon for some flavor. Dr Oz challenged her to see how fast she could make the wrap and she easily did it in under one minute! It’s a healthy, delicious snack or breakfast that you can make for all those peanut butter lovers in your family!
At the end of his show, Dr Oz shared that Dr Michael Roizen is his best friend in medicine and having him around makes life more enjoyable. Now, research shows that having a best friend can help you be healthier and live longer.
